So, it’s official, Deus Ex: Human Revolution is getting a full-fledged sequel, and I think it’s fair to say I’m as excited as a terribly excited person who has a really good reason for being terribly excited. If you got that reference you’ve earned yourself a free handshake from me should we ever meet.
So, the sequel is called Mankind Divided, a very fitting subtitle given the world we are re-introduced to in the trailer, do yourself a favour and watch it…
So it’s pretty clear that after the events of Human Revolution things have become pretty bad for the augmented human population; it’s 2029 and augmented human’s are now outcast as terrorists and undesirables after the events at the end of the previous instalment. Our part man, part machine hero Adam Jenson returns to the fore with what appears to be a few upgrades; new augmentations allowing him to take down enemies faster, move in a fashion not entirely dissimilar to the blink ability seen in games like Dishonoured and deploy an armour-like shell around himself for protection against heavy weapons and explosions. I’m willing to guess Adam may be working for a third party as he’s fighting both the group terrorising augmented humans as well as an extremist group of augmented humans as well.
The game is already listed on Steam, but there’s no release date that has yet been announced. We do know that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
This is a title that I am genuinely excited about, and I will be keeping up to date on the latest happenings so be sure to check back for more news.
